7 countries call on Iran regarding Hormuz
Amsterdam, March 20 (Hibya) - The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Canada condemned Iran’s attacks in the Gulf and called for keeping the Strait of Hormuz open.
The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Canada condemned Iran’s attacks on unarmed commercial ships and civilian infrastructure, as well as the de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The countries called on Iran to immediately halt its attacks and attempts to block the Strait of Hormuz.
The countries also stated that they are evaluating steps that can be taken with international partners to ensure free and safe maritime navigation, and welcomed the IAEA’s decision on the coordinated release of strategic oil reserves.
It was also emphasized that support will be provided to the most affected countries through the United Nations and international financial institutions.
