Trump: We had a very good meeting with Netanyahu
Washington, February 12 (Hibya) - U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement after his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump said the meeting went well and expressed that the relations between the two countries continue to be strong.
Trump said, “I just completed my meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu and his delegation. It was a very good meeting, the tremendous relationship between our two countries continues.”
Trump mentioned that no final decision had been made, but he emphasized that the negotiations with Iran were discussed. Trump said, “No final decision was made. However, I insisted that the negotiations with Iran should continue to see if an agreement can be reached. If possible, I told the Prime Minister that this would be preferred. If not, then we will see what happens next.”
Trump stated that in the past, Iran had preferred not to make an agreement, saying, “Last time Iran chose not to make an agreement and they got hit by the ‘Midnight Hammer,’ which didn’t work out well for them.” Trump expressed hope that this time Iran would behave more “reasonably and responsibly.”
In his statement, Trump also referred to Gaza and developments in the region, saying, “We discussed the great progress made in Gaza and the region in general. There is real peace in the Middle East.”
Trump concluded his statement by saying, “Thank you for your interest in this issue.”
