Türkiye and Uzbekistan hold 4th meeting to strengthen strategic partnership
Ankara, January 21 (Hibya) – Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the comprehensive strategic partnership and cooperation plans for the 2026–2027 period at the 4th Joint Strategic Planning Group meeting.
Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Saidov and Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Fidan held the 4th Joint Strategic Planning Group meeting, during which all areas of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries were reviewed. Issues such as trade and investment, energy security, regional connectivity, counterterrorism, migration, culture, education, and tourism were discussed in detail.
During the meeting, an Action Plan covering the years 2026–2027 was signed between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Türkiye. This document serves as a comprehensive roadmap aimed at creating the most favorable conditions for cooperation for the peoples of both countries.
Additionally, within the framework of the 4+4 mechanism, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Interior, and Defense, along with the heads of intelligence agencies, met to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments. Rapid changes in today’s world and the challenges faced by developing countries were also evaluated.
Both sides identified improving the living standards of their peoples as a common goal and adopted the Joint Action Plan to make cooperation more effective in the near future.
