Zelensky: About 40 UAVs were launched at Shostka in the Sumy region
Kyiv, March 24 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky provided information on the rescue efforts following large-scale missile and UAV attacks carried out by Russia across the country.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared the toll of the intense attacks carried out by the Russian army over the past 24 hours, emphasizing the importance of the defense industry and allied support.
Referring to the affected regions, Zelensky said, "In Zaporizhzhia and Poltava, ordinary apartment buildings were damaged and fires broke out. Approximately 40 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were launched at Shostka in the Sumy region. In Slatyne, in the Kharkiv region, a UAV struck an electric train. Overall, damage was reported in 11 regions."
Expressing his sorrow over the loss of life, Zelensky said, "So far, unfortunately, it has been reported that four people were killed in the attack. Dozens of people, including children, were injured."
Sharing data on the performance of Ukraine's air defense systems, President Zelensky stated, "In total, more than 390 attack drones and 34 missiles of various types (ballistic, cruise, and guided air missiles) were intercepted. These figures clearly show that more protection is needed to prevent casualties from Russian attacks."
