Abiy Ahmed: Ethiopia and the UN share a common future
Addis Ababa, May 13 (Hibya) – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali released a special stamp collection themed “Living Together in Peace” on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations (UN).
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali announced that a special stamp collection themed “Living Together in Peace” had been prepared in the country to commemorate the 80-year journey of the United Nations (UN).
Abiy Ahmed stated that the four stamps in the collection reflect a shared history ranging from the signing of the UN Charter in San Francisco in 1945 to the deployment of peacekeeping forces to Congo and the first UN Security Council meeting held in Africa.
It was noted that the stamps were distributed to 192 countries through the Universal Postal Union.
In his statement, Abiy Ahmed also thanked United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and his team for their work in the fields of peace, development and human rights.
It was emphasized that Ethiopia would continue to support the UN’s dialogue- and cooperation-based approach.
