Ahead of the Euro Summit in October, Costa mentioned that he held a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, and Irish Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe, adding:
"We discussed the EU economy amid current geopolitical challenges, progress on the competitiveness agenda, the digital euro, and steps to strengthen the international role of the euro."
