Joint assessment from Qatar and Türkiye on regional developments
Doha, May 12 (Hibya) - Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan evaluated issues related to freedom of navigation and security in light of developments in the Strait of Hormuz and regional tensions.
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani made assessments regarding regional developments during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Al Thani stated that the visit took place within the framework of regular consultations between the two countries and emphasized that tensions involving Iran and developments in the Strait of Hormuz are of critical importance for regional security.
The statement noted that attention was drawn to the use of freedom of navigation at sea as a tool in conflict environments.
