Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama in the capital, Moscow, as part of the Third Russia-Africa Summit.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Putin stated that relations between the two countries were rooted in Ghana's struggle for independence and its anti-colonial stance. He expressed a desire to preserve and develop the shared heritage established since diplomatic relations began in 1958.

6% increase in bilateral trade

Expressing satisfaction with the increase in political and interparliamentary contacts, Putin also addressed economic relations. Noting that Ghana is one of Russia's largest trading partners in sub-Saharan Africa, the Russian leader announced that trade between the two countries had grown by 6% during the January-August period.

Cooperation in education and international affairs

Putin stated that Russia would continue supporting Ghana in education, noting that 649 Ghanaian students are currently studying in Russia. He also congratulated Mahama on receiving an honorary doctorate during his visit.

Putin further emphasized Russia's appreciation for Ghana's support for draft resolutions submitted by Moscow at the United Nations (UN). He added that Russia welcomed the Accra government's principled stance on combating neocolonialism and pursuing an independent foreign policy.
