Von der Leyen: Europe stands in full solidarity with its partners in the region
Brussels, February 28 (Hibya) – President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen held a phone call with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Von der Leyen stated that she spoke with the UAE President, conveying full support and offering condolences following Iran’s attacks and the resulting losses.
Stressing that Europe strongly condemns these “unjustified” attacks, von der Leyen said: “These attacks are a clear violation of the UAE’s sovereignty and a blatant breach of international law. And this is not the first time the UAE has faced missile and drone attacks from Iran and its proxies.”
Von der Leyen emphasized that Europe stands in full solidarity with its partners in the region and will continue engaging with key regional partners.
