Cuba emphasizes monitoring and preventive measures against hantavirus
Havana, May 14 (Hibya) - Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez announced that Cuba’s monitoring and preventive system against hantavirus has been strengthened, that no cases of the virus have been detected in the country, and that the situation is being closely monitored.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez announced that they held a meeting with experts to assess the international situation regarding hantavirus.
Diaz-Canel stated that Cuba is prepared against risks thanks to its strong monitoring system and the experience gained from COVID-19, adding that border controls and epidemiological surveillance have been strengthened.
Emphasizing that no cases of the virus have been detected in the country, Diaz-Canel highlighted the importance of vigilance and individual responsibility.
